There is also one big update that most people still do not know about so make sure you read all the way through.
Biggest News of June 2026: The BJP government has come to power in West Bengal. The new government has announced the Yuva Shakti Bharosa Card Scheme to replace Banglar Yuva Sathi and instead of ₹1,500, it will offer ₹3,000 every month. However, the portal for this new scheme has not opened yet. Until it does, keep checking your old Yuva Sathi status at yubasathi.wb.gov.in.
Apply online and track your application status instantly.
It all started in February 2026. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee launched a new scheme under Budget 2026-27 called the Banglar Yuva Sathi Prakalpa (বাংলার যুব সাথী প্রকল্প).
The whole idea behind this scheme was simple to support educated young people in West Bengal who were struggling to find jobs. The government said: until you find work, we will deposit ₹1,500 every month directly into your bank account. The money comes through DBT Direct Benefit Transfer so there is no middleman, no delay, no paperwork to chase after.
This support was to continue for a maximum of 5 years, or until the person landed a job whichever came first. Over five years, that adds up to ₹90,000.
Between February 15 and February 26, 2026, camps were set up across all 294 Assembly constituencies in the state. Around 1 crore people submitted their forms. The first instalment was released on March 7, 2026.

You do not need to visit any government office for this. Just pick up your phone and check your Yuva Sathi status from home using one of the two methods below.
This is the most straightforward way.
Open a browser on your phone or computer and go to yubasathi.wb.gov.in. Once the site loads, you will see four options on the homepage. Out of those, click on "Application Status" ignore the other three for now.
On the next page, a "Check Status" link will appear. Click on it. A box will come up asking for your registered mobile number or your Enrollment Number (the one that starts with YS/).
After entering that, fill in the CAPTCHA those letters or numbers shown in a small image. Then hit Submit.
That is it. Your status will appear on the screen right away.
This one works slightly differently but gets the job done just as well.
Open apas.wb.gov.in in your browser. Click the "Check Status" button. Enter the mobile number you used when filling the form.
The moment you click "Get OTP," a one-time password will land on your phone. Enter that OTP, then click "Verify PIN." As soon as verification goes through, your current application status shows up on the screen.
One important thing to know people who filled the offline form at a February camp had their data uploaded manually by block officials in phases. So if the status did not show up right away in the beginning, that was completely normal. By June 2026, the data for most applicants has already been uploaded.
If your status shows Approved and you want to check whether the money actually reached your account, here is what you do.
Go back to yubasathi.wb.gov.in. This time look for the "Payment Status" section. Enter your Application ID or Aadhaar number, fill the CAPTCHA, and click Submit.
Your payment date and transaction details will show up right there on the screen.
One more thing worth knowing the payment goes directly into whichever bank account is linked to your Aadhaar. The moment money is credited, your bank sends you an SMS. So you do not really need to keep refreshing the portal just to check for payment your phone will tell you.
A lot of people check their status and then get confused does "Pending" mean rejected? Not at all. Here is a clear breakdown.
Status Shown
What It Means
Submitted
Form has been received, review is still pending
Pending
Documents are being verified or bank details are being validated
Approved
Everything checks out, money will be credited soon
Rejected
Something was wrong with a document fix it on the portal or call the helpline
If your status is Pending, do not stress about it. It does not mean your application is gone. Just give it a couple of days and check again.
Applications are now closed the deadline was February 26, 2026, but these are the conditions that were required, and they are still the same conditions used during verification.
Age had to be between 21 and 40 years. The applicant had to be a permanent resident of West Bengal. At least Madhyamik (Class 10) had to be cleared. There should have been no active employment at the time of applying. The bank account had to be linked to Aadhaar.
Anyone already receiving benefits under another government social security scheme was not eligible. However, students receiving scholarships were allowed to apply. They were not excluded.

Yuva Shakti Bharosa Card Scheme announced
Read this section carefully because the situation has changed significantly.
In the 2026 Assembly Elections, BJP won and the Trinamool Congress government which had been in power for 15 years was replaced. The new BJP government announced that it would replace the Banglar Yuva Sathi Scheme with a new one called the Yuva Shakti Bharosa Card Scheme.
Under this new scheme, eligible youth will receive ₹3,000 every month double what Yuva Sathi offered. There is also no 5-year cap this time; support continues until the person finds a job. On top of that, there is a proposed one-time assistance of ₹15,000 for competitive exam preparation.
this is a big but as of June 2026, no official portal has been opened for this scheme. Registration has not started. If any website is claiming you can "apply now," that is not official. Wait for the government notification before doing anything.

No, absolutely not. Pending just means your documents are still being checked. Come back in 2 to 4 days and it will likely be updated.
Yes, it will, but block officials had to upload that data manually, so it took a little time. By now, most of the offline data has already been uploaded.
The first instalment was officially released by CM Mamata Banerjee on March 7, 2026.
Not yet. As of June 2026, the portal is not open. When it does open, you will need to fill a fresh form.
Yuvashree is an older scheme that was already running. Yuva Sathi is the new 2026 scheme. Both have different eligibility rules and are separate programs entirely.
Look, it is pretty simple. If you filled the form in February, go to yubasathi.wb.gov.in or apas.wb.gov.in, enter your mobile number, and your status is right there.
