GST Health Checkup Free Real-Time GST Compliance Report & Score

GST Health Checkup is a free online tool that logs into your GST portal account and pulls your real filing history, bank validation status, ITC ledger balance and pending notices into one report. Instead of opening five different tabs on the GST portal, you get your entire compliance picture, along with a compliance score, in under a minute.

This is not a public GSTIN lookup. A public checker can only tell you whether a GSTIN is active or cancelled. Because this tool signs in with your own GST portal credentials, it can show you things a public search never will: whether your last three GSTR-3B returns were filed on time, whether your bank account is validated for refunds, how much ITC is sitting unused in your electronic credit ledger, and whether the department has issued any notice you have not yet responded to.

What Your GST Health Checkup Report Covers

Registration and Profile Details

Your legal name, taxpayer type, constitution of business, Aadhaar authentication status, e-Invoice applicability and principal place of business, pulled directly from your GST registration record. Useful for a quick check before you share your GST details with a bank, a large buyer, or a government tender portal.

GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B Filing Snapshot

A period-by-period table showing whether each return was filed on time, filed late, or is still pending, with the actual filing date against the due date. This is the fastest way to see a filing gap before it turns into a late fee, interest, or a system-generated notice.

Bank Account Validation

GST refunds and any repayment from the department only reach a bank account that is validated on the portal. This section confirms which of your registered accounts are validated, which failed validation, and what the listed IFSC and account type show, so a stuck refund does not surprise you later.

Cash and ITC Ledger Balances

A live break-up of your Electronic Cash Ledger and Electronic Credit Ledger across IGST, CGST, SGST and Cess. Many businesses are sitting on ITC they have already earned but never adjusted or claimed as refund. This section shows that balance in one place instead of buried inside a return.

Notices, Orders and Case Tasks

Every notice, order or ARN-linked task issued against your GSTIN, with the description, issue date and due date. A GST notice has a strict reply window, and missing it can mean an ex-parte order. This section flags anything open so it does not get missed in an inbox.

Turnover Summary and Challan History

A summary of declared turnover alongside your recent payment challans (CPIN), covering amount, tax head break-up and payment status, so you can match what you paid against what you filed.

How the GST Compliance Score Works

The compliance score is a single number that reflects your overall GST health, built from the same signals a bank, a large buyer or the department itself would look at:

  • Filing regularity - how consistently GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B have been filed on or before the due date over recent return periods
  • Registration status - whether the GSTIN is active, and whether Aadhaar authentication and e-Invoice status (where applicable) are in order
  • Bank validation - whether at least one registered bank account is successfully validated for refunds
  • Ledger and notice signals - whether ITC balances look reasonable for the business, and whether any notice or order is still open and unresolved

A score in the 90s generally means filings are current, the bank account is validated, and there are no pending notices. A score that drops below 75 usually means one or more of these areas needs attention within the current filing cycle, not because the business has done anything wrong, but because something like a late GSTR-3B or an unvalidated bank account is dragging the number down. The report breaks down exactly which factor caused the drop so you know what to fix first.

How to Run a GST Health Checkup

  1. Enter your GST portal username and password. These are the same credentials you already use to log in at gst.gov.in.
  2. Complete the security captcha. This confirms the request is coming from a real user, not an automated script.
  3. Click "Check GST Health Report." The tool connects to the GST portal in real time and pulls your current filing, ledger, bank and notice data.
  4. Review your compliance score and report. Go through each tab — Profile & Info, Return Filing History, Bank & Ledgers, Notices & Tasks, and Challans & Turnover — to see exactly where you stand.
  5. Download or print the report, or check another GSTIN using the same tool if you manage more than one registration.

Is It Safe to Use Your GST Portal Login Here?

This is the first question anyone should ask before typing a GST portal password into any third-party tool, and it is a fair one.

Your username and password are used only for the single purpose of signing in and pulling your report for this session. They are not required for anything beyond generating the health checkup you asked for, and LegalDev never asks for your Aadhaar OTP, UPI PIN or banking password on this page or anywhere else, exactly as stated in the notice below the report.

A few habits are worth keeping regardless of which tool you use: never share your GST portal password over WhatsApp, email or a phone call, change your password periodically from the official portal, and if you ever have doubts about a page asking for your credentials, check the URL carefully before entering anything. If your GSTIN has multiple authorised signatories, only someone authorised to access the account should be running this check.

Who Should Run a GST Health Checkup

  • Before applying for a business loan or overdraft - banks routinely check GST filing history and turnover consistency as part of underwriting; a clean report speeds up the process
  • Before onboarding as a vendor for a large company or a government tender - many corporate buyers now verify a supplier's GST compliance before releasing purchase orders
  • Before filing your GST annual return (GSTR-9) - catching a filing gap or ITC mismatch now is far cheaper than fixing it after the annual return locks the year
  • If you have not logged into the GST portal in a while - a quick check surfaces any notice or pending task you might otherwise miss until the reply window has already closed
  • If you run more than one GSTIN - the "Check Another GSTIN" option lets you review each registration separately without juggling multiple portal logins in your head

What to Do If Your Score Is Low

A low score is a checklist, not a verdict. Work through it in this order:

  1. File any pending GSTR-1 or GSTR-3B first. This alone usually recovers the largest part of a low score.
  2. Validate your bank account on the GST portal if the report shows it as failed or pending, so refunds are not stuck later.
  3. Open and read any notice shown as pending, and note its due date. If you are unsure how to respond, our GST Notice Response service can help you draft a proper reply within the deadline.
  4. Reconcile your ITC ledger against your purchase records if the balance looks unusually high or low for your business.
  5. Recheck your score after fixing the above to confirm the changes have reflected on the portal.

If any of this feels like more than you want to handle on your own, LegalDev's compliance team can take it from here.

Frequently Asked Questions

A GST Health Checkup is a free online report that logs into your GST portal account and pulls your filing status, bank validation, ITC ledger balance, notices and turnover into one consolidated compliance report with a score.

Yes, running the health checkup and generating the report is free. There is no charge to check your GSTIN's compliance status.

Yes. Because the report pulls real, account-specific data such as filing history, bank validation and notices, it needs your GST portal username and password to log in, the same way you would log in directly on gst.gov.in.

Your credentials are used only to sign in and generate your report for that session. LegalDev never asks for your Aadhaar OTP, UPI PIN or banking password, on this page or any other page on the site.

A score of 90 or above generally means your filings are current, your bank account is validated, and you have no pending notices. Below 75 usually points to a specific gap, most often a late return or an unvalidated bank account, that is worth fixing this cycle.

The score checks more than tax payment. A pending GSTR-1, an unvalidated bank account, or an unresolved notice can pull the score down even if every tax due has been paid in full.

Yes. The Return Filing History section shows each GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B period with its filing status, filing date and due date, so you can spot a late or missed filing at a glance.

Yes. The report shows your Electronic Credit Ledger balance broken down by IGST, CGST, SGST and Cess, so you can see exactly how much ITC is available for use.

It shows whether your registered bank account has been successfully validated on the GST portal. An unvalidated account can delay or block any refund the department owes you.

Yes. The Notices & Tasks section lists every notice or order issued against your GSTIN along with its type, issue date and due date, so nothing sits unanswered by mistake.

Yes. Use "Check Another GSTIN" after your first report to run a health checkup on a second or third registration without logging in and out repeatedly.

A monthly check right after your GSTR-3B due date is a good habit. At minimum, run one before every quarter and always before filing your annual return.

No. This tool gives you a fast, real-time compliance snapshot. A full GST audit, especially one covering ITC reconciliation against GSTR-2B and blocked-credit checks under Section 17(5), needs a professional review, which our compliance team can carry out separately.

Many banks and NBFCs already review GST filing history and turnover as part of loan or overdraft underwriting. Having a current compliance report ready can speed up that process.

A suspended or cancelled GSTIN cannot legally raise tax invoices, and any input tax credit passed on to your buyers becomes at risk. If your report shows this status and you believe it is incorrect, act quickly — our team can guide you through the revocation process.

No, this tool only checks and reports your current status. If it shows a pending return, you can file it yourself on the GST portal or use our GST Return Filing service to have it filed for you.

The report is generated for your session so you can review, print or download it. It is not published, shared or sold, and it exists only to answer the check you requested.

Anyone applying for a business loan, onboarding as a vendor for a large company, preparing to file their annual return, or simply checking a GSTIN they have not logged into recently.

Note the notice ID and due date shown in the report and reach out to our GST Notice Response team before the reply window closes. Missing a notice deadline can lead to an order passed without hearing your side.

No. LegalDev's professional fees, if you choose to use our paid compliance services separately, are always kept apart from any government fee, and this health checkup report itself carries no charge.
