Your LPG subsidy, MNREGA wages, pension — all of it goes straight into your bank account only if your Aadhaar is linked. No linking, no money. Simple as that.
Bank of Baroda gives you four ways to get this done. Pick whichever one suits you.
If you receive any government payment — DBT, scholarship, LPG subsidy, kerosene benefit, welfare fund — you need your Aadhaar seeded into your BOB account. The money won't land otherwise.
For regular banking, it's not compulsory. But honestly, most BOB customers have at least one government benefit coming their way. Better to link it and be sure.
Log into your BOB net banking and it's done in under two minutes.
Step 1: Open Bank of Baroda's internet banking portal and sign in with your User ID and password. Step 2: Under the 'Profile' section, find and click 'Aadhaar Linking'. Step 3: Type in your 12-digit Aadhaar number. Hit 'Submit'. Step 4: An OTP lands on your registered mobile number. Step 5: Enter that OTP where it asks, then click 'Submit' one more time.
Done. The Bank of Baroda Aadhaar seeding request goes through right away. Confirmation SMS usually arrives within one to three working days.
Small but important — your mobile number in BOB's system has to be active. If it's not, the OTP never reaches you and the whole thing stalls. Get that updated at your branch first if needed.
The BOB World app is Bank of Baroda's mobile banking platform, and this is probably the most convenient way to handle the Aadhaar update if you're already using it.
Step 1: Open the BOB World app — download it from Play Store or App Store if you haven't already. Step 2: Log in with your credentials. Step 3: Go to 'Services', then tap 'Aadhaar Linking'. Step 4: Enter your Aadhaar number and tap 'Confirm'. Step 5: OTP comes to your registered number. Step 6: Enter it and tap 'Submit'.
Confirmation shows up on screen once it's processed. You can do this sitting at home, waiting in traffic, anywhere — no branch visit needed.
This one surprises a lot of people. You don't need the app, you don't need net banking. Just your phone.
Open your messages and send this to 8422009988 — from your registered mobile number only:
Format: UID 12-digit Aadhaar Number Last 4 digits of your BOB account
So if your Aadhaar is 123456789012 and your account ends in 5678, you'd type: UID 123456789012 5678
Send that. You'll get a reply SMS confirming the BOB Aadhaar link once it's done. Usually processes in a day or two.
This method is genuinely useful for customers in areas with weak internet, or older customers who don't use apps.
Some people just prefer doing banking in person. Nothing wrong with that.
Step 1: Walk into your nearest Bank of Baroda branch. Step 2: Ask for the Aadhaar seeding form at the helpdesk. Step 3: Fill it out — your name, account number, and 12-digit Aadhaar number. Step 4: Attach a self-attested photocopy of your Aadhaar card and submit.
The bank verifies everything and sends you a confirmation once your Bank of Baroda Aadhaar link is complete — typically within one to three working days. Some BOB branches also have Aadhaar Seva Kendras where you can update your Aadhaar details on the spot if needed.
Keep these ready before you go:
That's really all. The process at the branch is quick if your documents are in order.
Across all methods, expect one to three working days for your Aadhaar to get seeded into your BOB account. Online methods tend to move slightly faster than branch forms.
You'll get an SMS from the bank once it's confirmed. If three working days pass and nothing's happened, check the status yourself through UIDAI — steps below.
Submitted the request and want to confirm it worked?
Step 1: Go to myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in and log in with your Aadhaar number and OTP. Step 2: Click 'Bank Seeding Status'. Step 3: Your Bank of Baroda Aadhaar link status appears — along with the bank name and date of last update.
If it's still showing pending after three days, your home branch is the right place to go and sort it out.
Practically — a lot.
Government subsidies like LPG, kerosene, and fertiliser get credited directly into your account. DBT payments come in without delays or middlemen. Scholarships and MNREGA wages land on time. Your KYC gets simplified for future banking requests.
And your account gets an added security layer through biometric authentication — which is honestly underrated when it comes to preventing fraud.

A: Yes, the same Aadhaar number can be linked to more than one BOB account in your name. But for receiving DBT payments and government subsidies, only one account gets set as the primary Aadhaar-seeded account through the NPCI mapper at a time.
A: Send your message to 8422009988 from your registered mobile number. The format is: UID [12-digit Aadhaar] [last 4 digits of account number]. You'll receive a confirmation SMS once the Bank of Baroda Aadhaar link goes through.
A: Visit myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in, log in with your Aadhaar and OTP, and check 'Bank Seeding Status'. If Bank of Baroda shows up with a successful mapping, your account is linked and ready for DBT payments.
A: The OTP goes to your registered mobile number in BOB's records. If that number has changed or was never updated, the OTP won't come. Visit your nearest Bank of Baroda branch to update your mobile number first, then try the linking process again.
A: No. The Bank of Baroda Aadhaar link is completely free across all methods — net banking, BOB World app, SMS, and branch visit. No processing fee, no service charge.
A: If there's a mismatch in name or date of birth between your Aadhaar and bank records, the linking request will fail. You'll need to either update your name at the UIDAI portal or correct it in the bank's records — your branch can guide you on which one applies.
A: Yes. You can delink through the UIDAI myAadhaar portal or by submitting a written request at your Bank of Baroda branch. This is usually needed when closing an account or changing which account receives your DBT payments.
A: Aadhaar linking only updates your Aadhaar number in the bank's internal system. Aadhaar seeding goes further — it also registers the account in the NPCI mapper, which is what actually enables DBT payments and government subsidies to reach your account directly.
A: Yes, select Bank of Baroda branches have Aadhaar Seva Kendras where you can update your Aadhaar details alongside the bank account linking process — saving you an extra trip.
A: After submitting through the BOB World app, the Aadhaar seeding typically reflects within one to three working days. You'll receive a confirmation SMS on your registered number once it's done.
